The Team


Although we have a number of people working behind the scenes day and night to keep our and your systems running perfectly, including NOC staff and developers, we thought you might like to learn a bit more about some of our key staff members, who you may already have spoken to or met.


John Benson – Managing Director

Back in 1991 when John was still at school he started his first company, “Bensonet Software”, which developed educational software and also built computers before the likes of PC World. After leaving school at 16, John went on to launch a number of successful companies which included the award-winning Lexology, Elaw and SolScan. He was also the technical force behind a number of others including The Legal 500 Online, The International Centre for Commercial Law and LINK (The Legal Information Network) which won the Society for Computers and Law award for “The most outstanding application of technology to the UK legal profession”. Taking what he had learned from supporting numerous industries, ranging from law through to footwear supply and even diamond mining, in 2000 John launched Solutios which was an immediate success. Since then, John has continued to provide the technical lead and is still very much involved in the day-to-day running of the company.
As well as having a passion for all things technical, John is also a keen cook and when he is not using one of his many gadgets, can usually be found in the kitchen cooking up a new dish. He also loves flying, driving and scuba diving.

Robin Cragg – Senior Engineer

After leaving Cambridge with an MA in Natural Sciences, Robin decided that his passion for IT was even greater than his love of science. After working as the technical head of a number of the UK’s best known internet and VoIP providers, Robin joined the team at Solutios and is credited with architecting many of our services including our current state-of-the-art IP network, which powers our portfolio of products. His scientific background is a real benefit to the company and as any client will tell you, Robin’s technical reports are always extremely thorough and precise.
When not spending time with his wife and two daughters, Robin enjoys playing go, bridge and chess as well as tai chi and yoga and computer programming. He is also enjoying learning to play the piano.
